I have experience working with clients who have ADHD, OCD, Depression, Anxiety, Low Self-Esteem, Social Anxiety, Relationship Issues, and family of origin issues. I believe that together in a therapeutic setting, you can learn to embrace and explore many different parts of your life that can be uncomfortable or cause distress. By leaning into these often uncomfortable areas, you also open yourself up to new solutions, new ideas, and a fuller more alive experience. It would be a pleasure to join you on your journey of improving your life, relationships, and overall well-being. I use a gentle, strength-based, collaborative approach to help you build insight and self-awareness and find meaning and solutions to your life’s journey. My goal is to help you create your fullest life; however you choose to define it. I come to counseling the way I once approached photography—with presence, empathy, and a deep reverence for what is beneath the surface. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a photographer with Getty Images, drawn to moments that revealed something raw, honest, and unseen. The same sensibility guides me in the therapy room. I don’t just listen to what’s being said. I listen for what’s longing to be said. The deeper truth, the ache beneath the story, the part of you that’s been waiting to be witnessed. My work is rooted in deep listening, spiritual attunement, and the belief that healing is possible when we feel truly seen. I work relationally and intuitively, drawing on my training to help clients process trauma and shift long-held patterns. Whether you are navigating grief, anxiety, depression, self-worth, confusion, or trauma, I bring warmth, curiosity, and a steady presence to our work. My approach is authentic, creative, and genuine. I believe therapy is not just about problem-solving—it’s about reconnecting to your inner knowing and remembering who you really are. I bring 20 years of human services experience to this work and a deep respect for the resilience and beauty of the human experience.

ALEXIS RESENDEZ AMFT
Hello! My name is Alexis Resendez and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #153587 at Aronsen Counseling Services. I have a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. I have thorough experience working with voluntary clients, as well as clients who have been mandated by the Department of Child and Family Services. I have worked with adults, children, and adolescents addressing a diverse range of issues such as domestic violence, bereavement, depression, relationship dissatisfaction, job stress, and eating disorders, among others. As your therapist, my hope is for you to see the possibilities for a more enhanced life and seek opportunities for growth at the pace you feel most comfortable. When working with a client, I place an emphasis on establishing a client-therapist relationship that is rooted in respect, authenticity, and warmth. I understand that in the therapy room, discussions may feel heavy, so I like to make space for humor and lightheartedness. I never want my clients to feel like they need to filter what they communicate or how they communicate. I work from an integrated approach, meaning the way that I conceptualize issues may vary to create a treatment plan most suitable to the issues being presented. At the foundation, my work with clients is primarily rooted in psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapy models. When I am not providing therapy, I am gardening, cooking my favorite meals, riding e-bikes at the beach, or attending a Pilates class. I love living life to the fullest with my loved ones and appreciating the warm weather here on the Central Coast!
