I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with over six years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families navigating trauma, child welfare involvement, and complex life transitions. My background includes extensive work with foster youth, reunification services, and individuals experiencing PTSD, disrupted attachment, and emotional distress. I specialize in working with older children and teens, beginning at age eight, and I am particularly passionate about supporting clients with ADHD, postpartum challenges, trauma histories, and blended family dynamics. As both a step-parent and adoptive parent, I bring a unique, lived understanding of diverse family systems and thoughtfully incorporate appropriate self-disclosure to foster connection, authenticity, and trust in the therapeutic relationship.
My approach to therapy is warm, relaxed, and down-to-earth, creating a space where clients feel safe to be themselves while doing meaningful work. I integrate experiential therapy with CBT and DBT-informed practices, tailoring treatment to each client’s needs. A central part of my work, and something deeply meaningful to me, is equine-assisted psychotherapy, which offers a powerful, evidence-supported, hands-on approach for healing trauma, building emotional regulation, and improving connection. I also incorporate the presence of therapy animals in sessions when appropriate, further enhancing engagement and comfort. I strive to meet clients where they are, offering a collaborative and compassionate environment that supports growth, resilience, and lasting change.
